Lia Neill Wentworth is the Acting Deputy General Counsel for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). She has proudly served our Nation as a civil servant for over a fifteen years. She received her BA in history and sociology from Duquesne University and her JD from The American University. Ms. Wentworth began her legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Judge William P. Greene, Jr., on the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, eventually being promoted to senior law clerk and Executive Attorney to the Chief Judge. In 2010, Ms. Wentworth took a position in the DISA General Counsel’s Office where she has litigated matters before the Merit Systems Protection Board, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and on behalf of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in District Court. She was formally named the Chief of the DISA Ethics Program Manager in 2014 and promoted to Associate General Counsel for Administrative Law and Ethics in 2015. Since March 2018, she has been the Acting Deputy General Counsel for the Agency. Ms. Wentworth is admitted to the Maryland State Bar, the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims and the Supreme Court of the United States. She has been married to her husband Jason, fellow civil servant, for nearly fourteen years. They reside in Maryland where they are proudly raising their two brilliant and talented sons, Ethan and Leo.
