Description

This is a cross-over session between the ADR and EEO program tracks.

In/Outgroup biases can manifest in a wide variety of groups, like people from different races, nations, ethnicities, political or religious beliefs, and even opposing sports teams. Biases toward outgroup members affect perceptions, attitudes, and behaviors. This cutting-edge session will explore how the use of "allies" can remove barriers, enhance organizational outcomes, and increase compassion. You'll learn how the brain reacts to those considered a part of the outgroup and explore strategies to overcome group biases. You'll also see how leveraging allies and “calling in” are practical tools for dismantling barriers and empowering your workforce. Finally, the presenter will link the concepts to proactive harassment prevention strategies.
