Speaker(s)

Presenter
Barbara Haga
ER/LR Consultant; President
Federal HR Services, Inc.

Description

The Family and Medical Leave Act is over 25 years old, yet practitioners still struggle with certain aspects of the law. Questions surface regarding notice requirements that apply to agencies and which family members are covered for FMLA purposes. Ms. Haga will discuss what “care” means under FMLA and how that is documented in FMLA certifications. This session will also delve into the regulatory requirements regarding the amount of notice employees must provide for various FMLA uses, medical certification, and what conditions meet the definition of "serious health condition." To get the most out of this timely session, plan to also attend Administering Paid Parental Leave (HR5) Thursday afternoon.
