HR5 | Administering Paid Parental Leave

  • Session Number: HR5
Thursday, August 19, 2021: 3:15 PM - 4:30 PM

Speaker(s)

Presenter
Barbara Haga
ER/LR Consultant; President
Federal HR Services, Inc.

Description

The advent of Paid Parental Leave in 2020 prompted many questions about when employees were eligible to substitute PPL in place of unpaid FMLA time, how much PPL could be used in individual cases, and whether PPL could be stacked on other types of paid leave. Ms. Haga will address these and additional issues regarding PPL, such as when an employee’s ability to substitute PPL is curtailed by prior FMLA use, what happens if the parent is not with the newly born or recently placed child while on PPL, and what happens if the employee doesn’t satisfy the service agreement. To get the most out of this timely session, attend Thursday afternoon's session, FMLA Hot Spots (HR4).
