Description

Independent contractors are present throughout the federal government, working side-by-side with federal employees. Like federal employees, they can be victims of discrimination or harassment. But what should you do if a contract employee makes contact with an EEO counselor? Is the employee entitled to pursue a claim through the federal administrative process? In this session, EEO expert Joel Kravetz will prepare you and your staff to provide effective EEO counseling to contract employees. He'll also walk you through each factor that must be weighed in determining if the employee should be considered a federal employee for EEO purposes so you can make effective decisions about accepting or dismissing contractor complaints.
