Description

Providing quality technical advice to managers in a timely manner is critical to successfully dealing with conduct and performance actions. This full-day workshop will give you up-to-date information on the keys to success for both types of cases. In the conduct section, Ms. Haga will focus on important issues such as promoting the efficiency of the service, providing due process, applying the Douglas factors, and choosing a penalty. In the performance section, you will learn how the performance standards determine steps you must take in a performance-based action, when and how to initiate and carry out opportunity periods, and what to include (and not include) in the performance improvement plan. You will also explore the impact of Santos v. NASA on initiating an opportunity period. You'll leave prepared to effectively advise managers and to carry out the actions necessary to maintain an effective workforce.
