Profile

Veronica Venture currently serves as the Deputy Officer for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties (CRCL), and the DHS EEO & Diversity Director. In 2017, Ms. Venture served as the acting Officer for CRCL for eight months. Ms. Venture brings significant expertise and experience with the federal EEO process and diversity management to DHS—particularly as it relates to law enforcement. Ms. Venture came to DHS from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), where she served for nine years. Prior to the FBI, Ms. Venture served for 12 years at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)–beginning as a law clerk, and subsequently holding positions as a Trial Attorney, Administrative Judge, Acting Area Director of the San Diego Field Office, Special Assistant to the Chair, and finally, as the EEO Director for the EEOC. Ms. Venture received her BA from Connecticut College, and her JD from the Washington College of Law at American University, in Washington, DC.
