Profile

Joel Alexander has served as an Administrative Judge with the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board (Board) since 2016 in the Dallas Regional Office and, more recently, in the Office of Regional Operations. Before his appointment to the Board, he worked for the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), as an attorney specializing in labor and employment law. Before his employment with ICE, Mr. Alexander represented employees in labor and employment law matters and assisted farm workers in their claims. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law. He is admitted to the bar in North Carolina and Texas. Mr. Alexander is also a returned Peace Corps volunteer previously stationed in Papua New Guinea, and received a Fulbright Fellowship to teach law at the University of Asmara in Eritrea.
