Judge Henderson joined the MSPB in 2012 and, in addition to adjudication of Board appeals, acts as a mediator in the Board’s Mediation Appeals Program. Prior to joining the Board, he served on active duty as an officer in the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General (“JAG”) Corps, with first-chair experience as both a prosecutor and defense counsel trying felony-level criminal cases before courts-martial. His last active-duty assignment was as a litigation attorney representing the USAF in administrative litigation before the MSPB, EEOC, and FLRA. Judge Henderson left the Board in 2016 and served as an ALJ at SSA and DOL before returning in 2019.
Alick is a native of Birmingham, Alabama and received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Alabama. His wife of 20+ years, a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, is also from Birmingham, and together they have three spirited teenagers ages 13-15.
