Profile

Saul Schwartz currently is a member of the Foreign Service Grievance Board, a mediator and hearings officer/hearings examiner for the DC Public Employee Relations Board and the Office of Congressional Workplace Rights. He also is a mediator for workplace and EEO disputes for various Federal government agencies. Saul additionally consults and provides training for several organizations concerning labor/employee relations, EEO and other employment issues. He is on the arbitration panels of the U.S. Postal Service and the Virgin Islands Public Relations Board. Saul is also on the factfinders/mediation panels of the California, Pennsylvania and Virgin Islands Public Relations Boards.
Saul is the former Director of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation’s Office of Minority and Women Inclusion. As the EEO Director. Mr. Schwartz began his 31-year career at the FDIC in the Legal Division in 1989, where he worked as a labor and employment lawyer, which included handling EEO matters. He later supervised the labor and employment lawyers at the FDIC’s Labor Unit, including headquarters and regional staff. He also worked at the Federal Labor Relations Authority from 1984 through 1989 as a labor lawyer. Mr. Schwartz worked for a law firm in Pittsburgh for several years before he began his federal career. He received his juris doctor degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, a master’s degree in labor relations from Purdue University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
