Joel Alexander is the Regional Director and Chief Administrative Judge of the Dallas Regional Office at the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB). He previously served as an Administrative Judge in MSPB's Office of Regional Operations and the Dallas Regional Office. Before his appointment at MSPB, he worked for the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), as an attorney specializing in labor and employment law. Before joining ICE, Mr. Alexander represented employees in labor and employment law matters and assisted farm workers in their claims.
Mr. Alexander received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law. He is admitted to the bar in North Carolina and Texas. Mr. Alexander is a returned Peace Corps volunteer previously stationed in Papua New Guinea, and he received a Fulbright Fellowship to teach law at the University of Asmara in Eritrea.
