Profile
Laura M. Albornoz is the Director and Chief Administrative Judge, Office of Regional Operations, at the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB). She served previously as the Regional Director and Chief Administrative Judge of the Dallas Regional Office in Dallas, Texas. From November 2009 to November 2013, she was the Chief Administrative Judge of the agency’s Denver Field Office. Chief Judge Albornoz began her career at MSPB as an Administrative Judge in the Western Regional Office, San Francisco, California in June 1992. Prior to joining MSPB, she was an Assistant District Attorney in Nueces County, Texas. She also served as Law Clerk to U.S. Magistrate Judge Eduardo E. de Ases in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Chief Judge Albornoz is a native of Corpus Christi, Texas. She is a graduate of Stanford University in Stanford, California, and the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, Texas.
