Profile

Mary joined Franklin Public Schools in 2002 and served as a seventh and eighth grade ELA teacher before becoming Assistant Principal. She wrote and received a grant for audio/visual essay creation and collaboratively developed All In!TM, an extracurricular school-wide reading initiative along with fellow “Crazy Reading Lady” Erin O’Leary. She and Erin authored the 2017 YA version of Battle of the Books for Random House Publishing, Co. Previously, they’ve “put to work” books by Una LaMarche, Ellen Hopkins, Jack Gantos, and Ruta Sepetys. Mary received her B.A. in English and Theatre Arts, summa cum laude, from Muhlenberg College, her APB from Bridgewater State University, and her M.Ed. Administrator License from American International College.
