Dr. Donna Wright is Director of Schools for Wilson County Schools, TN. Under her guidance, district-wide academic performance has significantly improved; the district is undergoing the largest school building program in the history of the county; a concentrated emphasis on early literacy instruction is a focal point; college and career readiness is a hallmark in middle and high schools. She is also an adjunct professor at MTSU and Cumberland University.
Wright has served on several state and national level committees and task forces over the last decade. She has a consistent record of accomplishment in promoting community engagement and developing partnerships. She was named 2016 Superintendent of the Year by the Professional Educators of Tennessee.
