I’ve spent most of my life in the DC area (with a brief stint in Cairo, Egypt in 97-99). I received my MAT from Trinity Washington University and an undergraduate degree in Information Systems from American University. I started my career a decade ago at IBM, teaching government clients how to use complex tech tools. In 2013, I changed careers and became a classroom teacher in DC. I taught 3rd through 5th grade in both public and public charter schools in DC, and even had the opportunity to “loop” (move to the next grade) with my students for two years. My students did some remarkable work as change makers over the years.
