Description

The COVID19 pandemic disrupted school, both as we’d experienced and as we’ve managed. Quite literally overnight, we designed, distributed, and delivered remote instruction with on-hand, in-home resources. We checked in, checked on, and checked up with our students, their families, our colleagues, and our communities. We made every effort to ensure continuity of learning and minimize detriment. These heroic efforts, however, have come with a hefty cost to educators: escalating pleas for support and guidance amid intensifying pressures to create normalcy in these all but normal times intermingle with record numbers of medical absences, substitution shortages, and dwindling morale. How can we lead our schools through waves of anxiety, adversity, and seemingly unending uncertainty? How can we support our stakeholders when we ourselves are struggling to stay afloat? We’ll use 4 phrases to reframe and reimagine support to better sustain educators, fortify resilience, and foster empathetic cultures. Endorsed by Future Ready
