Description

We are experiencing a renewed call to strengthen civic education across our country. Today’s students must effectively evaluate the validity of claims in the digital media space, take and defend positions across multiple platforms, and utilize technology to inform and mobilize their community around ideas they care about. To achieve this, all students deserve civic education experiences that are authentic, student-centered, and leverage technology to enhance learning experiences. In this session, we will explore several effective approaches to civic education, key resources and programs, and practical ways that we can use technology to help prepare our students for modern citizenship and the evolving nature of civic engagement.  All workshops are BYOD (Bring Your Own Device). Participants are responsible for bringing a wifi enabled device with all workshop software/apps downloaded before attending.
