Description

Snapchat is a popular social media platform. One of the most popular features is the ability to use augmented reality (AR) to change your appearance, your background, or play music. The use of AR goes beyond changing your appearance to send to a friend, but it is also an excellent way that companies are engaging with their prospective customers. Social media has changed the landscape of marketing. Marketing tactics were once high-risk and hopeful ROI. Today, with social media the cost to deliver content to a target audience is a fraction of what once was spent. Snapchat's use of its AR technology is an example of these tactics. This session will introduce attendees to the technology used to create these filters and how concepts like coding (JavaScript), digital design, and marketing students can benefit from bringing Snapchat into the classroom. This hands-on workshop requires the following: 1. Snapchat account 2. Lens Studio downloaded to PC or Mac https://ar.snap.com/en-US/lens-studio FETC Workshops require an additional registration fee or premium registration. All workshops are BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) for hands on participation.
