Description

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), in some organizations, is an initiative that has gained increased awareness in the last several years. But what exactly is DEI? Why is understanding DEI important in the K-12 industry? What does DEI mean to me if my organization is not located in a large urban setting? What does it mean to me if it is? How is technology an important component of supporting equity in learning? What are important DEI considerations when recruiting and developing talent? This workshop will explore these questions and more. The goal of this session is to enable attendees to have a better understanding of DEI in general, why it is important, and to look at some suggestions on how to support a DEI initiative in their respective organizations.   FETC Workshops require an additional registration fee or premium registration. All workshops are BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) for hands on participation.
