Description

Shaped by increased visibility into their children’s learning lives during the pandemic, parents have both new expectations and higher concerns about the use of technology in school. This new environment is creating havoc with education leaders’ efforts to communicate their vision for digital learning while still balancing parents’ aspirations for more personalized learning with their concerns about data privacy, online safety and screen time. Unfortunately, too many schools and districts are still leaning on out-of-touch vision statements about ed tech usage and benefits from 2019 or earlier. In this workshop, we will share new research from Project Tomorrow’s Speak Up Project about what parents’ really want from their child’s education and the value they place (or do not place) on edtech. Using these data-informed insights, participants will dust off those old vision statements and create brand new messaging that supports the current realities of tech use in learning.   FETC Workshops require an additional registration fee or premium registration. All workshops are BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) for hands on participation.
