Description

As interventions go, the maker movement in schools has enjoyed remarkable staying power. A decade ago, the maker movement arrived in schools with the promise of reinventing education to be more authentic and relevant. This session will celebrate ten years of ingenuity across the globe and reflect on lessons learned. We will explore which maker technologies were invaluable and which underdelivered. Favorite projects will be shared. Making across the curriculum will be discussed, and emerging technologies that afford wonderous learning opportunities will be previewed. Then, as now, turning every classroom into a makerspace and every child into a maker is the path to creating truly personal learning for every student.   FETC Workshops require an additional registration fee or premium registration. All workshops are BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) for hands on participation.
