Description
"But my code works." I have heard this phrase too many times in my computer science classroom. Students often think that if the code works, they get an A and move on. However, a working program is simply the first step in understanding coding. In this session, I will share some tips and strategies that I have used to deepen the understanding and application of coding concepts by incorporating student preferences for video, art, music and passions to demonstrate their mastery of a concept as they solve authentic and meaningful student-selected problems. Assessments can be more than working programs or tests!
FETC Workshops require an additional registration fee or premium registration. All workshops are BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) for hands on participation.
