  • Session Number: TL5
Tuesday, June 16, 2020: 2:25 PM - 3:10 PM

Nicholas Tella
Director of Information Security
Johnson & Wales University

Colleges are faced with the constant onslaught of new risk and compliance mandates. Policies function as the foundation, oversight and driver of an organizational risk management program. Only after the policy foundation is in place can the risk management controls and technologies necessary to implement the policy be planned, evaluated and implemented. This session will explore the risk management program in the context of the wider organizational objectives of the organization. We will cover individual rights, ethics, legal requirements, and standards imposed on the organization. You’ll learn how policies should be maintained and regularly updated based on the results of periodic risk assessments and security reviews to reflect the constantly changing technological and risk environments.
