General Session | Engaging Students in an Age of Distraction
Wednesday, June 17, 2020: 10:50 AM - 12:00 PM
Professors are often stuck in a silo, given a class to teach and a "thank you kindly" with no other systems of support. Meanwhile, students are coming to classes with higher and higher expectations of engagement. We will explore ways to better connect with students through a stronger understanding of how to use high-tech, modern tools that can be easily integrated into the classroom. This session will be highly interactive, helping build new ideas on ways to develop critical thinking with easily accessible tools like GSuite for Education, find innovative approaches to instantaneous feedback using tools like Flipgrid and Zoom, and help students make adjustments to their educational path with formative assessment tools like Kahoot and Gimkit.
