Founded by gardeners, for gardeners, ELM Dirt is an organic fertilizer company that focuses on microbes and micronutrients to help improve the overall health of the soil.

After watching her daughter eat fists full of soil, our founder Lauren Cain took a nose dive into the research of soil and the hazards that come with synthetic fertilizers and knew she needed to make the switch to sustainable options.

Lauren tried her hand at vermicomposting and saw the pleasant effects that worm castings had on plants and wanted to make more easily available organic fertilizers, and thus, she formulated our first line of organic liquid fertilizers and topsoil dressings. 

It was not long until she saw that not only gardeners were loving the line she had created, but also houseplant lovers, home growers, and landscapers alike.
