Young began his career in politics as a consultant during the 2012 election cycle. He has since worked on numerous campaigns throughout the state of California including some of the largest, most expensive, and closely watched races in the San Diego County area.
Young is the Political Director of the Association of Cannabis Professionals, a lobbying and advocacy organization working towards establishing common sense cannabis regulations throughout Southern California in order to protect medical patients and provide economic opportunities for small businesses and individuals. He created and is the President of the Association of Cannabis Professionals PAC, which raised over $200,000 for local candidates, ballot measures, and committees in the 2018 election cycle.
Young maintains very close ties to the San Diego political arena by being elected to the San Diego County Democratic Central Committee, with his lobbying and advocacy efforts on behalf of cannabis policy, and by providing the data, voter targeting, and technological support to the California Democratic Party and 14 other county parties throughout California. Furthermore, Young continues to consult on various candidate and issue-based campaigns each cycle.
In addition to his work in both politics and the cannabis industry, Young is a passionate advocate in the disability community as a board member for San Diego’s Disability Services Advisory Committee as well as a 7-year high school Assistant Varsity wrestling coach at Canyon Crest Academy.
