2019 GAS TANK WINNER JOINS AIMEXPO CONNECT 2021
Mimi and Moto Speaking at Gas Tank Competition,
Announce Third Book, Plush Toys, Giving Back, IMS Centerstand
Atlanta, GA: Nancy Gerloff and Mark Augustyn, creators of Mimi and Moto: The Motorcycle Monkeys, are proud to be a part of the Motorcycle Industry Council’s 2021 AIMExpo Connect and this year’s Gas Tank competition.
“We were honored when Cam Arnold with the MIC reached out and asked us to speak at this year’s Gas Tank competition,” says Nancy. While the judges decide on this year’s winners, the couple will join Eric Anderson (Vroom Network) to talk about their experience and what has happened since winning. The competition starts on Friday, January 22 at 9 a.m. pst. Nancy and Mark will be speaking between 9:45 and 10:00.
The couple thought this year’s digital AIMExpo Connect would be a great platform to announce some of the cool things coming up for them in 2021.
The couple is currently working on their third children’s motorcycle book which will be a chapter book geared for ages 5 and up. “Since our daughter inspired us to create Mimi and Moto and is turning seven years old soon, we thought it was time to create a world for the Mimi and Moto characters to come to life in,” says Nancy. The book will be released early this year as an ebook and later this year as a hard cover.
“We have been asked many times about Mimi and Moto plush toys, so we decided this year was finally time to make some,” says Mark. The couple is working with Stuffed Animal Pros and hope to have them available in the next few months. Pictures of the prototypes can be found here in our Products section.
In the spirit of giving back, Nancy and Mark are teaming up with the AMA to become part of their ‘member benefit partnership program’, but with a twist. “Steve Gotoski and the AMA have been great to us since we started so we wanted to do something for them. AMA members will get a 20% discount at www.mimiandmoto.com, and we will donate those discounts back to the AMA,” according to Nancy.
The couple will be creating a similar program with the band Blackberry Smoke who are involved with CURE Childhood Cancer. “I met Brit Turner (drummer) back in the late 90’s when we were both involved in the Atlanta music scene. Through our mutual friend George Tingley, we recently reconnected and I found out that Brit is a motorcycle rider. His daughter successfully beat childhood cancer and the band has raised over $500,000 for CURE. We’re going to set up a 20% promo code for fans of the band to use at www.mimiandmoto.com and donate those discounts directly to CURE,” says Mark.
“We’re also excited to announce that we will be appearing on the IMS Centerstand podcast in February” said Mark. “We are also going to be speaking with them about getting Mimi and Moto involved with their Discover The Ride program at the outdoor shows later this year which will be a great opportunity to grow our brand even more.”
According to Nancy, “We want to keep growing the Mimi and Moto brand by connecting with people and companies who see the value and importance of getting kids excited about motorcycles. Being a part of this year’s AIMExpo Connect will be a great way to do just that.”
