Hello! About six years ago, we set out to help young people answer the fundamental question "what kind of person do you want to become?" And Inventing Heron was born!

The idea was to use storytelling to expose young people to a variety of career pathways. With this in mind, we immersed ourselves in the workplace and interviewed people in all walks of life about their work. Mushroom farmers. Pipe fitters. Data scientists. Adventure journalists. You name it.

And then we took things one step farther. We worked with educators to turn these over 600 stories into career exploration curriculum based on research based studies.

This year over 1300 are using the site and related curriculum in their middle and high schools every single week. And we partnered with Rhode Island PBS to develop educational content. We'd love to partner with you too to help your students own their futures!
