Heifer’s mission is to end hunger and poverty while caring for the Earth. Our educational resources motivate students to explore their global connections and create a better world. We offer free downloadable lesson plans, activities and resources for read-a-thons and fundraisers that help struggling families improve nutrition and income. And now, our Read to Feed program has gone digital with our new reading tracker app!
Since 1944, we have provided livestock and environmentally sound agricultural training to improve the lives of people who struggle daily for reliable sources of food and income. We currently work in 19 countries, including the United States, to help families and communities become self-reliant. Our goal is to help families achieve living incomes, which allow them to feed their families daily; educate all their children; and have proper housing, water, hygiene and other essential resources.
