Columbia University’s pre-college programs are open to students in grades 9-12 who want to expand their horizons, strengthen their college applications, and meet peers from across the globe. High-achieving, highly motivated students will study with field experts and earn a Certification of Participation and a personalized Instructor Evaluation. We offer courses in a wide array of subject areas from architecture to artificial intelligence and linguistics to law. There is something for everyone. Academic Year Weekend classes meet online on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays for two-hour sessions for ten consecutive weekends. Summer Academic Enrichment courses meet online with 1-week and 2-week options or in person with 1-week and 3-week commuter options. For students 16 years of age or older, we also offer 3-week residential options. Our online courses are live (not-recorded) so students get an equally engaging educational experience. Throughout the day, students may participate in extracurricular and co-curricular activities, including college preparedness programming, community outreach and awareness activities, and special lectures.
