Opportunity Zones are geographic areas in which it is possible to access the best capital gains elimination and reduction program ever passed by Congress. ELITE is able to access these benefits by acquiring a creative blend of mineral, royalty and non-operated working interests in Opportunity Zones. There are no capital gains taxes due upon exit from the fund. Taxation of capital gains earned in 2020 can be deferred and partially eliminated if funds are invested prior to September 11, 2021.
We are active in rural Opportunity Zones that have existing and growing oil and gas development. ELITE acquires mineral rights in producing oil & gas wells from the over 12 million individual mineral owners in the U.S., most of which are over age 65. We take advantage of information asymmetry and acquire mineral rights that have robust production growth from new drilling. These interests regenerate themselves at no cost to ELITE.
