Cowboy Exploration is an active, established buyer of non-operated working interests nationwide. We pride ourselves on our aggressive acquisition strategy, evaluating deals quickly, and closing on time as promised. Our goal is to develop meaningful and lasting relationships with sellers, and we always welcome the opportunity to evaluate new acquisition opportunities.

CAMERON GOODWIN, MANAGING PARTNER
Cameron grew up in Corpus Christi; raised in and around the oil patch with a father who operated oil & gas wells. After graduating from the University of Houston he worked in Oklahoma for several years as a landman establishing a large lease position for a publicly traded company. Cameron then joined RunTitle in Austin, Texas where he built the company’s mineral title database and worked alongside Matt to help mineral owners navigate the selling process.

MATT HARDY, MANAGING PARTNER
Matt was born and raised in Kansas City. He graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Finance and began his career in oil & gas as a Global Internal Auditor at ConocoPhillips in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Matt was most recently the Head of Acquisitions at RunTitle in Austin, Texas. There he helped owners better understand their mineral and royalty interests so they could make fully informed decisions.

JEFF WELBER, MANAGING PARTNER
Jeff grew up in Plano and graduated with honors from the University of Texas with a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering and a Minor in Economics. Following college, Jeff managed production/operations for a small O&G company in Austin, TX, leading a multi-disciplinary team focused on acquisition due diligence and conventional prospect generation. Jeff has also assisted non-op oil and gas investment companies with PDP/PUD valuations and bid strategies, with a focus on South Texas and Mid-Continent assets.
