Saphlux develops and manufactures next-generation light sources for customers in the display and lighting industry. Current products include NPQD micro-LEDs and semi-polar GaN substrates.
Beginning from Yale University in 2014, Saphlux always focuses on using GaN material innovations to solve crucial technical problems.
In 2017, our team first commercialized our 4-inch semi-polar GaN wafers to address the fundamental polarization problem in conventional GaN. Our semi-polar wafer is now used in various applications such as high-power green lasers, high-power blue LEDs, low-wavelength-shift micro-LEDs, visible light communications, etc.
In 2019, Saphlux achieved the industry-first QD-in-chip micro-LEDs using our unique NPQD technology. The new NPQD micro-LED is highly reliable with advanced performance. It helps to resolve many key material problems in manufacturing Micro-LED displays including binning, red EQE, color shift, and high material cost. We are now partnering with leading display manufacturers for various micro-LED display applications.
