Eye tracking (ET) is crucial for human-machine interaction in XR and AI glasses, enhancing user experiences through features like foveated rendering, motion sickness reduction. The Apple Vision Pro, for instance, leverages eye tracking for over a dozen functions.
Incumbent ET solution often 1) fails with interference from lenses and display optics; 2) does not accommodate users’ diverse anatomical differences like cornea size and astigmatism, and 3) is challenging to balance performance with design constraints such as power.
