Eco Smart® by Federal Package® is an earth-conscience sustainability solution for the global personal care market that is fully FDA compliant and made in the USA. This proprietary technology enables our plastic lip balm, deodorant, sunscreen, or other containers to break down in biologically active environments while providing the same form, fit, function, design, or color options.

Our containers can be made with PCR, PIR or Bio-Resins. They are fully recyclable, but when they are tossed into a biologically active landfill they also break down, unlike normal plastics. Eco Smart does not contain starch, heavy metals, and other fillers that can produce microplastics which have been known to contaminate soil and water. The biomass remaining after complete biodegradation is no longer a polymer, which shows up as humas (rich soil), methane, which can be converted to energy, and carbon dioxide.

ASTM D5511 (municipal landfill) and ASTM D6691 (marine) test show biodegradation beginning in days and continues leading to significant bio-assimilation, shortening the time span the plastic occupies in a landfill from hundreds of years to several years.

At Federal Package®, we design and manufacture a variety of stock and custom container styles and sizes, from .05 oz. to 3.0 oz., including propel-repel containers and a wide variety of caps. All injection molding and automated assembly is done on site at our FDA-registered facility in Chanhassen, MN. Our containers can be made with PCR, PIR or Bio-Resins, and are recyclable.

All of our containers can be molded in any color combination including clear, natural and shimmers. Containers can be finished with a variety of decorating options for a product that really stands out.
