Sibling co-founders Shiva and Kayvon grew up in the haircare industry. Their father had a chain of salons and growing up they would work as receptionists and be assistants to the hairstylists. The idea for Joon came from childhood summers spent at their Persian grandmother’s kitchen table learning about her homemade beauty rituals and their grandfather's spice company. The mixture of scents and flavors inspires plant-based product infusions featuring saffron, rose and pistachio.
