Course Outline

IC has become an important tool for anions, cations, amines, organic acids, carbohydrates and amino acids in a variety of industries. This short course will provide a practical introduction to ion chromatography and method development. You will leave with a clear understanding of the challenges associated with IC method development based on real world examples. We will emphasize optimization of chromatographic conditions, column and detector selection, sample preparation, and basic troubleshooting. Key regulatory methods using ion chromatography from environmental, petrochemical, chemical, power and pharmaceutical will be discussed. Practical approaches are discussed to address the challenges with ion chromatography applications.
