We are now accepting Proposals for the Pittcon 2020 to be held in Chicago, IL, USA March 1-5, 2020. The following paragraphs define the different types of Technical Program Sessions and provide guidance on what is required in order for your proposal to get the proper consideration by the Pittcon Technical Program Committee. The deadline for submission is Friday, April 26, 2019.

A speaker is not permitted to speak in more than 2 sessions – including the technical program session, a short course session, or a networking session. Please check with your invitee that he/she has not been invited to speak by another organizer.

PROPOSAL DETAILS

Please read all the instructions before submitting a Proposal. The online submission form will ask you for the following information: 

ProTip: Create and save all proposal information in a word document FIRST, and then copy and paste the information into the submission form. 

  • TITLE (max 125 characters*): This is the first impression for your presentation. Is it informative and engaging? Is it active, i.e., what, exactly, is the take away? Does it accurately reflect the session topic? Is it short and to the point (the title does not have to explain everything attendees will learn)?
  • SESSION FORMAT: Please see detailed information below:
    • Symposium Sessionhas 5 speakers with a 35-minute presentation each. We must have all 5 speakers’ personal information, along with a topic and possible title for each speaker. A Symposium will not be considered if 5 speaker names are not listed. All reasonable expenses for the speakers are paid AFTER the conference. The organizer must make a presentation in the session in order to be reimbursed for his/her participation. More details to follow if the session is accepted as a Symposium.
    • Organized Sessionhas 8 speakers with a 20-minute presentation each. We must have at least 5 speakers’ information, along with a topic area and a possible title. An Organized Session will not be considered if at least 5 speakers are not listed. There should be no more than 2 speakers from the same affiliation in the session. The speakers’ expenses are not paid in an Organized Session.
    • Workshophas at least 5 speakers with a 20-minute presentation each (no more than 6 speakers). We must have at least 5 speakers’ information, along with a topic area and a workshop title. A Workshop will not be considered if at least 5 speaker's names are not listed. There should be no more than 2 speakers from the same affiliation in the session. The schedule for the Workshop can be flexible – the Workshop can include a panel discussion or round table discussion. The speakers’ expenses are not paid in a Workshop Session. 
  • CATEGORY - You will need to select one category from the following list.  

  • DESCRIPTION -  Provide a description focused on benefits to attendees. Write as you would have it appear in the conference program, in third person present tense. (1200 Character Limit)
  • OTHER COMMENTS -  Provide any other relevant information that will assist us in approving your presentation.  (2000 Character Limit)

  • Presenter
    • Organizer – 
    • Co-organizer–

  • Title of Presentation
    • This field should be blank for organizers

ADD PRESENTERS.  There are three ways to add presenters to your proposal. 

Please note the following presenter requirements:

Notes: Speaker not permitted in more than two sessions No more than two speakers from the same affiliation No more than two speakers from the same affiliation.

  

  Option 1: Add logged in user as Organizer, Co-Organizer or Speaker

  • Select this option if:
    • You, as the current logged in user, are the Organizer, Co-Organizer, or Speaker.

    Option 2: Search existing contacts in our database

  • Select this option if:
    • You're completing the application on someone's behalf and don't know if he/she has an online profile OR
    • The proposal includes multiple presenters and you're unsure if each already has an online profile.
    • Repeat this process to add additional speakers that may already be in the database.

     Option 3: Add/Edit Co-Organizer or Speaker

  • Select this option if:
    • You do not find all the necessary profiles for your proposal after searching via "Option 2".  You will need to complete all fields for all speakers, so please have their contact information ready to enter.
    • Repeat this process to add additional speakers that are not already in the database.
