Welcome to BlephEx™- Healthy Lids for Life!

Thank you for your interest in BlephEx...the first and only doctors treatment for blepharitis!

BlephEx is a new, in-office procedure that allows a doctor to completely remove the scurf, debris, crusting, and exotoxin-laden biofilm that builds up on the patients lid margins over the years. This biofilm causes inflammation which slowly shuts down the tear glands and causes a wide range of other symptoms.

In existence for five years, BlephEx is being rapidly accepted as the new standard of care for blepharitis, and has now been adopted by the Illinois College of Optometry, Mt. Sinai Medical College, Southern College of Optometry, and University of California-Irvine; among many others.

The BlephEx hand piece spins a surgical-grade micro PVA sponge at 2,500 RPM, which has been soaked in a lid scrub solution, along the lid margin. A fresh tip is used for each eyelid. Once clean, now home lid scrubs actually have a benefit in helping KEEP the lids clean, instead of expecting home scrubs to GET the lids clean. Treatments are performed every 4-6 months, sometimes sooner if necessary.

It removes the scurf and collarettes that can occupy the lids in blepharitis patients. In MGD, it removes epithelial overgrowth and plugging of meibomian glands orifices more efficiently than manual removal. Treating every 4 months can help your patients maintain and improve normal tear function and avoid contact lens intolerance.

BlephEx is a private pay procedure with most doctors charging around $200 per procedure. When using our recommended way of presenting blepharitis to the patient, doctors are getting a 80% - 90% acceptance rate from the patient.

The starter kit includes the hand piece, charging cradle, LashCam, 50 brochures, a large eyelid model depicting blepharitis, a Demodex model, 3 types of educational posters, a doctor's educational DVD, 5 patient procedure packs, and one bottle of LidHygenix foam.

Most of our doctors have found that the BlephEx system pays for itself in one week by simply doing one procedure in the morning and one in the afternoon. Many of our doctors are generating new revenue in excess of $100,000/yr.
