Kennedy Valve Fire Protection Products

Kennedy Valve is a domestic manufacture of UL Listed and FM Approved valves and accessories from 2" to 24".  We produce 2" to 24" gate valves, butterfly valves, check valves, indicator posts and wall posts in Elmira, NY.   We are vertically integrated to the extent possible to control our own destiny in this turbulent manufacturing climate.  Most products are supported with our extensive cad library with both Revit files and Intergraph SmartPlant available.

  • Kennedy Valve, a Division of McWane, Inc., will be displaying the industry's only factory installed OS&Y tamper switch at the 2022 ASPE Convention & Expo.

    Elmira, NY 7-25-2022-  Kennedy Valve, one of the Industry's oldest producers of UL Listed and FM  Approved Valves and Accessories is introducing it KVOS-2 tamper switch to the ASPE membership, said Barry O'Brien, National Sales Manager for Fire Protection Products.  The KVOS-2 is UL Listed and FM Approved and is the industries only factory installed tamper switch and can be supplied on and 12" and smaller Kennedy built OS&Y gate valve.  We will have a grooved end OS&Y with KVOS-2 at  booth 1342 during the ASPE Convention & Expo

    Kennedy Valve, Elmira, NY 8-30-2022: 

    Kennedy Valve will introduce at this year's ASPE show its industry leading G365 BFV.  The product is UL Listed  and will be available 2 1/2" to 12" IPS groove end x IPS groove end.  The valve incorporates a replaceable gear box cover that contains tamper switches.  If the switches ever become fouled, they can be simple changed, by removing the replaceable 4" diameter handwheel and the gear box fasteners.  The G365 is UL Listed to 365psi and will be available in both normally open and normally closed configurations according to Barry O'Brien, Global Sales Manager, Fire Protection

    Kennedy Valve field adjustable and custom fixed length indicator posts. Figure 2945A/B/C/D/E & ALV; UL Listed and FM Approved...

    • The Kennedy Valve Figure 2945 Indicator Post is designed to connect to 4" to 24" Kennedy Post Indicator Valves.  The Indicator Post utilizes both a fusion bonded epoxy iron upper section as well as a black asphaltic coated iron lower barrel.  Several variable length products are available to accomodate a field adjustable install.  We also offer custom fixed length products where the jobsite parameters exceed the capabilities of adjustable products.  All Figure 2945s are pre tapped to accomodate tamper switches as manufactured by others.   All Kennedy Valve indicator posts are Buy American compliant and Made in the USA

    • The Kennedy Valve 2945W can be utilized with any 4" to 12" Kennedy post indicating valve.  The 2945W fusion bonded epoxy coated iron construction.  The product is also tapped in order to use a tamper switch as manufactured by others.  All 2945Ws are Buy American compliant and Made in the USA

    Kennedy Valve KS-RW 4" to 24", KS-FW 2" to 12", & KS-RWHP 4" to 12", and KS-FWHP 2" to 3"...

    • Kennedy resilient seated gate valves are UL Listed and FM Approved 2" to 24" for water based fire suppersion service.  The can be UL Listed and FM Approved to 350psi.  They are available in either non rising stem(NRS) or outside stem and yoke(OS&Y) construction.  Several end conditions are available including IPS grooved end, class 125 and class 250 flange ends, class 125 by grooved end, MJ, Titon Joint, C900 PVC, or threaded end.  All Kennedy gate valves can be compliant with Buy American Requirements and are fully assembled and tested in the USA.
  • KVOS Equipped OS&Y
    KVOS-2 Factory Installed Tamper Switch...

    • The KVOS-2 factory installed tamper switch is UL Listed and FM Approved and California State Fire Marshal listed for use on any Kennedy manufactured OS&Y gate valve 12" and down.  The KVOS-2 is factory preset to send a signal to the fire alarm panel inside of two complete turns of the valve handwheel.  The KVOS-2 is of robust construction and is factory mounted by tapping the yoke of the OS&Y.
