Description

Technology is fast being implemented to assist and increase musculoskeletal safety in the workplace. Traditional ergonomic evaluations can be time consuming, and if not done correctly, leave you with information that doesn't provide the full picture. Risk assessment can now be performed using video processing technology collecting accurate data with high validity and reliability. AI and machine learning have increased the feasibility of objectively assessing movements on larger populations during in-situ work settings, dynamic work, variability of tasks and locations. Quantification by means of technical measurements have minimal effect on workflow, performance and productivity. This session will assist those responsible for ergonomic program to leverage their knowledge and experience by using preventative based technologies and skilled data interpretation to move up the hierarchy of controls reducing injuries and associated costs to the organization.
