Profile

Dr. Rice works on Emeritus status for Army Research Laboratory (ARL). After serving 25 yrs. active duty, she conducted full time research for ARL for another 18 yrs. She has an MS in Occupational Therapy from the University of Puget Sound, a Masters in Health Care Administration from Baylor University, and a PhD in Industrial Engineering (Human Factors & Operations Research) from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University. She is a Certified Professional Ergonomist, and Past President of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society and of the Board of Certification for Professional Ergonomics. She has edited 1 book and co-edited 2 others, the most popular of the 3 is titled “Ergonomics for Children: Designing Products and Places for Toddler to Teens”. She has also written 20 book chapters and 119 papers in peer review journals and publications.
