Profile

Gary Downey is a Master Ergonomist at The Ergonomics Center, housed in the Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial Systems Engineering at North Carolina State University. He received his Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering with a focus in ergonomics, assistive technology, and biomechanics from The University of Tennessee and his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University. Gary is a Board-Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) and a licensed Professional Engineer (PE). His role involves providing ergonomic job evaluations, training and mentoring to employees at companies throughout the United States.
