We develop ergonomic tools for healthy screen usage and deliver our products worldwide through partners. Our products are characterized by the unique combination of ergonomics, affordability, durability and design.

In 2008, Vincent and Anita Bons shared a vision: making healthy working with ergonomic products a matter of course. The desire was to combine this work with their passion for development work. In 2006, they had already met Daniël van Meeuwen. The ergonomic knowledge, in combination with Daniël’s connections, resulted in the creation of R-Go Tools in 2010. Due to the diverse nature in character and talents, a very varied team was created. And it is precisely this great diversity that strengthens us and complements each other! Together we put our vision into practice: developing ergonomic tools so that you can work healthy and thereby give people in need, a second chance. We provide support through our foundation Tools4Life.

  • Short breaks are the secret to more productivity, focus, and job satisfaction

A stiff neck or back is often a signal to get moving. When you take a break and take some time to do something else, you will recharge. Your muscles relax, your blood flow resumes and you become refreshed.

The R-Go Break is a software tool that helps you remember to take breaks from your work. As you work, the R-Go Break software controls the LED light on your Break mouse or keyboard. This light changes color, like a traffic light. When the light turns green, it means you are working healthily. Orange indicates that it is time for a short break and red indicates that you have been working too long. This way you receive positive feedback on your break behavior.

The R-Go Break can be personalized. You can increase the break frequency in case of complaints or at the advice of your therapist. Personalize your breaks by, for example, setting a reminder when it's time for a cup of tea, a game of table tennis, or a walk. It is also possible to configure the buttons of your mouse to your personal wishes.

In addition, the software analyzes your work behavior and makes it visible. This shows how intensively you use the mouse and the keyboard and how well you follow the break recommendations. After all, measuring is knowing.

In October 2021 we received the Benelux Office Products Award (‘computer products’) for our R-Go Break!

    Extra module Sit/Stand coach

    Changing your posture is healthy!

By changing your posture regularly during the working day you stimulate blood circulation and prevent physical complaints.

The Sit/Stand coach helps you to alternate sitting with standing regularly. This personal coach advises you when it's time to stand up, so you stay more productive and fit all day long. Based on actual screen usage, the Sit/Stand coach moves your desk from sitting to standing or a height in between (for use of a stool or desk bike). You can personally set your breaks and program your electric desk to go up or down to your chosen height.

The Sit/Stand coach is developed in cooperation with furniture manufacturers and is compatible with Linak, Innotech and OMT systems (USB connection cable separately available).  With other systems, the Sit/Stand coach gives a reminder on your screen and allows you to adjust the height of the desk yourself.

    * Only available for Windows.

    Extra module Fit coach

    Get moving!

By doing various stretching exercises during your micro-breaks, you will stimulate blood circulation and stay fit and focused throughout your working day.

The Fit coach offers a pop-up on your screen with stretching exercises from physiotherapists. You can personalize the Fit coach by selecting the type of exercise. You can choose from the following exercises: Balance, Neck and Shoulders, Legs, and Posture / Relaxation. During the exercises, you will be coached with a video, pictures, and a simple description. The Fit coach is developed in cooperation with physiotherapists and contains more than 80 exercises. Products that work seamlessly with the R-Go Break

  • Did you know that a keyboard is often a source of bacteria? Especially now that more and more offices are working with flexible workplaces and each time someone else is sitting behind the computer. British research has shown that on average a keyboard contains 400 times more bacteria than a toilet seat. This has been confirmed by a study by Kimberly-Clark Professional. This study showed, among other things, that your workplace is much dirtier than you would think. Samples were examined from thousands of workplaces in different sectors. Most keyboards were found to contain so much bacteria that you can officially call them “dirty”.

    Hygiene in the workplace

Reason enough to give your workplace a good cleaning. But did you know that good hygiene in the workplace also reduces sickness and has a positive effect on the working atmosphere? A clean workplace even improves your productivity.

How do you ensure good hygiene in the workplace? Here are a few tips:

    • Keep your workplace clean

So don't forget to clean your mouse and keyboard regularly

    • Wash your hands regularly

And wash them extra well after every toilet visit

    • Don't eat at your desk

Crumbs in the keyboard are a source of bacteria

    • Provide adequate ventilation

Ventilating well also helps to reduce the transmission of respiratory tract infections, such as COVID-19

    Hygienic typing

In order to type in a hygienic and safe way everywhere, we have developed the R-Go Hygienic keyboard cover. With this protection cover you can minimize contamination from bacteria and germs. The cover is suitable for the R-Go Compact Break keyboard. It fits like a skin around every key, which ensures that the typing comfort remains intact. It is made of ultra-thin, high quality silicone and is flexible and soft. The cover is waterproof and dustproof and protects your keyboard from spills of liquids and crumbs. It is easy to shake off, rinse, clean in the dishwasher of disinfect. This allowes you to type hygienically anywhere, even in a clean room or at a medical workstation.

  • In recent years, the offices have been rapidly furnished with sit-stand desks and other tools to enable people to work healthily. Due to corona many people have now been forced to work. Working from home has its advantages and disadvantages.

In the spring of 2020, we conducted a survey among more than a hundred homeworkers. This random group of homeworkers was asked about the pros and cons of working from home. They were asked about the design of the workplace, the presence of work-related complaints, productivity and break behaviour. This always involved a comparison between working from home and working at the office.

People see both advantages and disadvantages of working from home

Working from home brings several advantages. The survey showed that respondents see the lack of travel time as the biggest benefit of working from home. They also experience more flexibility and freedom to organise their working day. Many respondents experience more peace and quiet at home and less distractions (especially from colleagues). Finally, they said they experienced more safety at home because of the coronavirus.

Unfortunately, however, there are also disadvantages to working from home. The study shows that many respondents are distracted at home during the working day (especially those with children). They also see a disadvantage in the fact that there are fewer social contacts with colleagues. Discussing face-to-face or catching up together during a break is not an option at the moment. Finally, a major disadvantage is that the workplace at home is not ergonomically designed.

More than 40 percent are more productive at home than in the office

More than 40 percent of the respondents said they were more productive at home than in the office, while 27 per cent said they were more productive in the office. The rest of those surveyed experienced no difference at all.

More flexibility and freedom at home, but fewer breaks

Most respondents said they experienced more flexibility and freedom at home. However, the survey showed that, on average, people take fewer breaks at home during the working day than in the office.

Both in the office and at home, only 50 per cent take a lunch break. Employees also take few micro-breaks. These are the short vital breaks (micro breaks) needed to keep the body's blood flow going. This applies both to working at home and in the office. Only 5 percent of the respondents take a short break every 10 minutes to change their posture for a while.

    More physical complaints at home

The results do not lie: more than 24 percent of the respondents said that they had regular to always work-related physical complaints at home: in the neck, shoulders, back, arms, wrists, hands or had headaches. While in the office this is less than 9 percent! The group of homeworkers without complaints is only 20 percent.

Still little attention to ergonomics at the home workplace

When asked about furniture and tools at home, only 3.5 percent of respondents had their monitor at eye level. This means that almost everyone keeps their head in an unnatural position while working at home. Constantly looking down can be very stressful for the neck and can cause neck complaints or headaches.

Most respondents indicated that the office workplace is better equipped than the home workplace. For example, less than 50% have an adjustable office chair at home, while almost 85% have a good chair in the office.

In response to the question "What is lacking in order to be able to work properly (ergonomically) at home?", most respondents said they wanted ergonomic furniture for working at home. Many respondents also see a monitor raiser (such as a laptop stand) as a necessary addition to the home workplace.

Healthy working with an ergonomic home workplace

The research shows that people experience significantly more physical complaints now that they are working from home. In particular, the lack of an ergonomic workplace plays an important role in this. An ergonomically designed workplace stimulates people to naturally adapt a good working posture and thus helps them to work healthily.

Tips for healthy working at home

Making the best of it and still working healthily at home? These 5 tips will take you a long way.

    1.             Support your body

Make use of the whole seat of the chair, with your back supported by the backrest. Let your forearms support while your shoulders are relaxed. Rest your forearms on the armrests of the chair or on the desktop, while your shoulders are relaxed.

    2.            Work in an upright position

Place the screen straight in front of your body and set the top of the screen at eye level. Use a laptop raiser and place paper documents between your keyboard and screen.

    3.            Try to avoid reaching

Place the keyboard and mouse close to your body and also put the phone within easy reach.

    4.            Avoid small repetitive movements

Typing is healthier than mouse usage, so use as many keyboard shortcuts as possible. Move the mouse from the whole arm instead of the wrist. Use a separate keyboard and mouse when working with the laptop.

    5.            Ensure relaxation and sufficient movement

Limit the number of hours of screen work and take regular (micro) breaks. It is recommended to change your posture every 10 minutes and relax/stretch your muscles. Regularly alternate sitting with standing and walking.

This study was published on 24 April 2020 on the website of Arbo online

  • What feels better: watching an hour of TV or swimming laps? I have to admit, the latter sounds tiring and I sometimes have to push myself to go to the pool after a long day. But afterwards, my body is grateful. Strangely enough, I feel fitter!

    Advantages of movement

I started looking into the benefits of movement. Did you know, for example, that you come into contact with more toxins during the day than you think? I am talking about exhaust fumes, meat, fish and dairy products containing antibiotics, fruit and vegetables containing pesticides, chemical e-numbers, medicines or cleaning products. Our liver helps to detoxify, but the excess toxins are stored in fat. And when toxins build up in your body you can suffer from fatigue, obesity, food addictions, infertility, menstrual problems and immune system problems. And movement is one of the most powerful ways to detoxify!

But movement has even more benefits:

    • Improve blood circulation. Blood circulation is one of the most important functions in the body. It provides oxygen to the brain and other organs. Your blood vessels dilate when you exercise properly. Just 30 minutes of exercise can help improve your blood flow. This also improves the blood flow to your brain, allowing it to work better.
    • Reduce stress. Movement and exercise help to reduce stress-related complaints. Movement releases substances that help the brain to inhibit the stress hormone cortisol. In addition, movement helps you to relax and clear your head. You can also take a moment to tune in to your body. Is everything still going well? Your body gives off signals in the form of fatigue, stiffness or pain. If you want to stay healthy, it is important not to ignore these signals.
    • Strengthen your immune system. It has been shown that more active people are less likely to get infected. And if they do get an infection, they are sick for less time and the symptoms are milder. This is because movement and exercise strengthen our immune cells. The immune system is your first and best line of defence against harmful viruses and bacteria. "Sport improves the circulation of important immune cells, reducing the risk of infection," says David C. Nieman, Doctor of Public Health, affiliated with the American College of Sports Medicine. Your immune cells are like soldiers patrolling the body. If you are chained to a desk day in and day out, your fighters will be less active. This can lead to your immune system not providing enough protection against bacteria and viruses, such as COVID-19.

    Exercise should be fun

Perhaps you start to cringe at the thought of excercising. Or your weekly schedule is so full that it is almost impossible to plan a moment to excercise. Exercise should not put extra pressure on you. No, it should be a relief. It doesn't have to be complicated either. Choose a form of exercise that suits you. Above all, exercise should be fun! A regular walk in the countryside, for example, can make all the difference.

    Move also at work

If you work at an office, chances are you don't get much movement during the day. Sitting for long periods of time reduces your blood flow and puts a static strain on large muscles, such as the back and neck and shoulder muscles. In addition, during typing and mousing your hands make repetitive movements, which puts strain on the same small muscles and tendons over and over again. It is good to relax your muscles and tendons in between repetitions and to get moving regularly. Consider online meetings while standing or telephone meetings while walking. Have you ever thought about holding meetings while walking? It makes meetings more productive and creative!

Stay fit with the Fit coach

There are also various stretching exercises that you can easily do during your working day. To help you, we have developed the Fit Coach in cooperation with physiotherapists. The Fit Coach offers you a pop-up on your screen with different stretch exercises. You can personalise the Fit Coach by selecting the type of exercises. You can choose from the following categories:

    • Balance
    • Neck and shoulders
    • Legs
    • Posture / relaxation

During the exercises you are coached with the help of a video, pictures and a simple description. The Fit coach contains more than 80 exercises. You can decide during which breaks you want to do the exercises and how many exercises you want to be offered per break.

This way you keep moving during your working day!

  • The R-Go HE Break Mouse is an ergonomic vertical mouse with integrated break software. This smart mouse helps you to remember when it is time to take a break. The ergonomic R-Go HE Break mouse has a vertical position, which allows you to move the mouse automatically with your forearm instead of just your hand. This prevents strain injuries, such as RSI complaints. The HE Break mouse has a round shape, so that your hand and wrist are in a natural, relaxed position. The mouse fits comfortably in your hand and supports all fingers. Are you left- or right-handed? We have different versions and sizes available.

The LED colour signals in the mouse indicate how healthy you are working and when it is time to take a break. The mouse encourages you to take frequent breaks. These vital breaks help prevent fatigue, stress of muscles and tendons, stimulate the body's circulation and keep you fit throughout your working day. During mouse usage, the light changes colour like a traffic light. Green light means you're working healthily, orange means it's time to take a break, red light means you've been working too long. By using these subtle colour signals, you will receive simple and positive feedback about healthy (break) behaviour. For more information, visit our R-Go Break page.

  • The R-Go Split Break keyboard is an ergonomic split keyboard with integrated break software. This keyboard stimulates you to take regular breaks. This keeps the blood circulation of your body up to standard, prevents overloading and keeps you fit during your working day.

The keyboard consists of two separate parts, which you can place in any desired arrangement. This splitting prevents your wrists from bending while you type. Typing with straight wrists reduces muscle tension and prevents pinching of tendons and blood vessels. With one movement the built-in magnet allows you to transform the two separate parts of the keyboard into a compact keyboard . The compact size ensures that the mouse is always within reach. Due to the light keystroke, there is minimal muscle tension while typing. The keyboard is flat, so your hands and wrists are flat and relaxed while typing.

LED colour signals in the keyboard indicate how healthy you are working and when it is time to take a break. As you type, the light changes colour like a traffic light. Green means you're working healthily, orange means it's time to take a break, red means you've been working too long. These subtle colour signals give you simple and positive feedback on your break behaviour. For more information, visit our R-Go Break page.

The Caparo monitor arm can be installed from above the work surface. This allows you to work in an upright position even during installation! In addition, you do need no tools for installation.

The R-Go Caparo monitor arms are CO2 neutral designed. The CO2 emissions that are released in the production of a monitor arm are compensated by planting trees.
