Axele and DAT Announce Strategic Partnership to Benefit TL Carriers
Axele TMS Designated as DAT’s Preferred Carrier TMS; DAT Becomes Axele’s Preferred Load Board
Dallas, TX and Portland, OR—Axele, LLC, a Transportation Management System (TMS) company, and DAT Freight & Analytics, operating the largest truckload freight marketplace in North America, announce a strategic partnership designating Axele as DAT’s preferred carrier TMS. DAT also becomes the preferred load board for the Axele TMS, with a large percentage of Axele’s clients already using the board to find loads. Every year, hundreds of millions of loads are posted on DAT, resulting in more than 52 million transactions taking place across 68,000 lanes.
“Axele’s integration with DAT helps carriers find the most profitable loads quickly and in a one-stop-shop environment,” said Ryan Camacho, Director, Business Development at Axele. “The partnership with DAT opens the door for Axele to further enhance its robust integration with DAT and work with the company to create exciting breakthrough carrier offerings.”
“DAT aims to provide all the intelligence and freight services that companies need to successfully operate their transportation supply chain profitably,” said Greg Hastings, Vice President, Strategy Execution at DAT. “The partnership with Axele fills a significant gap in our strategic tech ecosystem – that of a modern, innovative carrier TMS.”
Parent company Optym launched Axele TMS in June 2020. Optym, which develops leading optimization solutions for some of the largest and most respected airlines, railroads, and trucking companies, leveraged its experience and proprietary algorithms to create Axele, the first intelligent TMS built for the long underserved small-to-midsized truckload carrier market. With Axele, smaller carriers can finally reap the benefits of an optimized, automated, and connected TMS formerly enjoyed by only the largest trucking companies – at an affordable price with no long-term contracts.
DAT has recently accelerated growth via an evolving product portfolio by launching new applications such as DAT One and strategic acquisitions such as the Freight Market Intelligence Consortium. With the DAT and Axele integration, carriers can post empty trucks and pull in new loads, with Axele suggesting which loads will generate the highest return, considering driver availability, Hours of Service, deadhead miles, driver pay, and more.
