Description

Take a deep and detailed dive into Wisconsin's school finance system with the DPI School Finance Team and WASBO members. The speakers in this special, two-part series will describe how the revenue limit sets the total dollars that can be raised through state equalization aids and local property taxes for each district. They'll also step through the calculation of state equalization aids based on the variables and factors that drive the formula: each district's spending, property tax base and number of students. Attendees will improve their understanding of how the overall district budget works and the concepts of fund accounting while gaining confidence in their advocacy on school funding for their districts.
