Description

A key factor in attracting, motivating and retaining top talent is having a fair and transparent compensation strategy. This session is designed to provide school board members with a strategic overview of teacher compensation, including the philosophies that guide pay structures and the options districts can consider—from traditional step-and-lane schedules to performance-based models, differentiated pay and strategic stipends. Participants will explore how compensation systems can reflect district values while balancing fiscal responsibility.  Various districts will share sample models they’ve used to attract and retain talent in their district and key factors that are important when designing a compensation structure.
