O&T Farms manufactures several Omega-3 ingredients for feed and pet food formulations using flaxseed and pulses as base ingredients. Their dry-extrusion process coupled with these base ingredients was used to develop linPET, their proprietary patented product. Given the weak molecular bond of polyunsaturated Omega-3 fats, stability and oxidization are technical constraints that arise when included in either feed or pet food formulations. linPET is a proven solution for flaxseed stability constraints, given the creation of a unique protein/fat matrix through the O&T manufacturing process. Given that flaxseed is a sustainable, land-based source of Omega-3’s and linPET provides excellent shelf-life stability; a solution is presented for pet food ingredient applications. Lastly, to meet growing specialty market needs, several of their products are now certified with either Organic or Non-GMO registration.
