Seawoof Eco-Artisan printed leashes and collars are made from post-consumption plastic bottles. We print our artisan designs using a sublimation printing process that eliminates the need for toxic inks or chemicals. This line is designed in California and crafted in Germany with Italian recycled materials.
Our webbing is Oekotex and GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certified and received the LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) study by ICEA (Institute for Ethic and Environmental Certification) which certifies environmental practices, workers' dignity and employment rights.
The impact: Recycled plastic requires fewer processing stages, and consumes less energy resulting in a considerable reduction in carbon emissions compared with virgin polyester. For comparison, 1 kg of recycled plastic saves the following in terms of energy consumption and CO2 emissions compared to virgin:
- 60% less energy resources used
- 32% less global warming potential
- 94% less water consumption
