The Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) was passed into law to improve the safety of all food in the US. Through FSMA, Congress directed the FDA to establish science-based standards for the safe production produce with the Produce Safety Rule.
The Produce Safety Rule sets standards for harvesting, packing, holding or growing produce to reduce the risk. DATCP’s Safe Wisconsin Produce program helps produce growers meet these standards using education, and providing access to resources and training.
We encourage anybody interested in DATCP’s Safe Wisconsin Produce program to stop by.
